Movie - Chip Tha Ripper

DISCLAIMER: Look, I'm saying the same thing now, that I said when I did the Juan/Fli Pelican series, I'm a journalist, I try to look at both sides even if one may seem completely in the wrong and that's what I tried to do with this video. Everything is my own opinion plus stuff I noticed, observed, and heard. But, enough chatter ... just watch.

Diss: "Break to Build" - Benzino & Raekwon

So I'm not thrilled, Benzino (aka the guy who got mad because he couldn't touch Eminem) and Raekwon have teamed together to diss Royce Da 5'9"... Yes, I'll let that sink in.
The song has apparently surfaced today and is getting buzz all over cyber space. Peep the song below.
I am anxious to see what Royce is going to do, I like Raekwon, but I will forever and six days support Detroit.

My thoughts? It definitely seems that Benzino is using Raekwon as a scapegoat. He never really disses anyone, but Benzino fires shots at the end. I wonder if Raekwon even knew how his verse was going to be used. I've never been a Benzino fan, but this seems so random to me. I definitely think Royce could spit one bar that would kill this entire song.

What do you think?

Streets on Lock - Big Sean ft. Big Shan

Everyone knows the more known you become the more haters you get, it's practically a fact. I was on YouTube and searched for Big Sean and came across these videos by this guy out of Flint (I believe it's Flint) by the name of Cash or Tux (really he goes by both) and he is a rapper. However, this guy makes disses about Big Sean and Finally Famous. I never heard of this guy before ever, (unless I'm just not cool enough to know who he is) and I find it almost entertaining. One is like a year-old video and the other one is like a month old. I wonder if his plan is to diss Sean in hopes that Mr. Finally Famous disses him back and then he'll get recognized by someone too (I mean why else would he continue to diss Big Sean?) If he hasn't responded to you and it has been going on, for certain, for a year, why continue? Just wondering that, but I'm sure you want to see/hear what I'm talking about.

And he had to go use the "If I Ruled the World" beat....a classic..smh.

Birds of a Feather - Phish: A Customer

As Juan said yesterday, there has been a string of people that have come out and said that they have been waiting several months for their Fli Pelican orders – which they have paid for – and still have not received them. One of these people is blogger Lanice W. It’s been three months since she placed her $100+ order and she’s still waiting. Interview 2 in the Birds of a Feather: What’s Going on with Fli Pelican? series, Lanice.

Name: Lanice W.
Role: Fli Pelican Customer

Alex Washington (AW): When did you put in your order for Fli Pelican and what did you order?

Lanice W. (LW): On March 23, I ordered a Cliff Skighpelican tee, Fighting Pelicans Undefeated sticker, and The Pelican stickers with the pink hat logo. Four days later, I ordered The Pelicans Spring Cardigan and the FP Classic Button. I didn't receive my package until a month later, and it only had half of my order in it. I only received the cardigan and a small button that I didn't order at all.

AW: Have you contacted Fli Pelican about this matter?

LW: At the time of purchase, I waited a week and a half before I contacted Juan Neal through Twitter. He was the only one, at the time, that I knew was a Detroit representative. Juan did contact me right after I sent him an @reply on Twitter and told me it wouldn't take long at all because there was no middle man involved since they do everything on their own.

AW: As a customer, how do you feel about the allegations brought against Nino? Do you feel betrayed?

Birds of a Feather - Phish: The Song

People are coming out of the deep woodworks in support of Juan Neal's semi-movement. There's this group called Surf Club and they're actually in support of Juan's efforts as well. So much so, they e-mailed him this track. Called what else? "Pelicans" Take a listen.

Birds of a Feather - Phish: Logo

I forgot to attach this to the interview with Juan, but I decided to make a post of it, no biggie right? Well, in the previous post you saw a picture of the clip art and the Fli Pelican logo as well as the Elusion Bandits shirt and the Fighting Pelicans one. There was one more saved to my desktop that I forgot to post. Anyone like pickles??

Yes, The Vlasic Pickles logo looks vaguely similar to the Fli Doctor.

Birds of a Feather - Phish: Juan Neal

Over the past few days, Juan Neal has been identified as either one of two things: a bitter/disgruntled employee, or a man who truly cares about the people more than the product. For those who do not know or have not been paying attention he was the blogger over at Fli Pelican until he quit sometime last week after discovering some unflattering things about the Pelicans. Juan has agreed to speak exclusively to me in regards to this situation. As I've said before his interview is the first in a series of interviews including another from a former Pelican, annoyed customers, and what some of your favorite people are saying. I have e-mailed Nino in an effort to at least get a statement from him, so far that has been unsuccessful. So without further adieu, interview one of Birds of a Feather: What's happening with Fli Pelican, Juan Neal.

Name: Juan Neal
Role: Former Blogger for Fli Pelican Clothing.

Alex Washington (AW): Let's jump right in it, why did you quit Fli Pelican?

Juan Neal (JN): The main reason I quit Fli Pelican, it wasn't all personal for me. I quit due to the bad business that was going on. A lot of it was forwarded on to me; a lot of people haven't been getting their clothes for one month to five months since they placed the order. I had a date set to tell them their clothes would be there and their clothes wouldn't make it. Now they're contacting me and I have to let them know that I don't work for Fli Pelican. It's bad business that a company for the people is doing poor customer serivce.

AW: You mentioned something about "bad business," care to explain?

JN: Personal nature, I was never compensated for my work. You never want to be full of yourself and take claim for a business growth. I did think that I had a stake in Fli Pelican being known, not just in Michigan but throughout the US. A lot of people don't understand the power of a blog; having a dope picture and good literature is just as effective as a billboard. Though the blog was viewed as what Fli Pelican liked, it was through me. To not be compensated at all for my hard work, was like another form of bad business. At the end of the day he was getting everything and I wasn't getting nothing in return. People thought I was living a luxurious life, like I was getting money and free clothes. I did get the 12 megapixel camera for my birthday but that was asked to be returned after I quit. But yesterday he, well Nino, called and said that I could keep it. I think if I hadn't taken the actions that I had with the blog, he'd still be asking for it.

AW: Some people would say you are being bitter about the situation. How do you feel about that claim?

JN: Luckily a lot of poeple are suporting me right now. You would think I was being bitter, but a lot of people have come out of the woodworks saying they still haven't gotten their clothes yet. Really, my semi-movement was more for the people than anything. What Fli Pelican seems to not understand is that these people look up to us. At the end of the day the people weren't mad they didn't get their clothes, they were disappointed. Disappointed and mad are two different words. With disappointment you're more so sad than you are angry. If you didn't get your clothes in a month, you're going to be disappointed because you look at us like a big brother or cousin. You'll be waiting by the door on your clothes and never get them. It isn't a bitter thing because there are a lot more things I could be saying. It's exposing to the public that this ddude is doing bold business. A lot of allegations that were made by others in the past, those people had those claims right. I didn't want to have no part of it, there are certain people I called on my behalf to apologize because I felt I took sides or whatever; but my eyes are now open and I'm seeing it for what it is.

AW: You posted a picture of a clip art photo that resembles the Fli Pelican logo, dismissing Nino's claim he drew it himself. How did you find this out?

Boom Boom POW - Black Eyed Peas

Guess there's another meaning behind Boom Boom POW! Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas approached Perez Hilton several times throughout the night because she was upset with Perez Hilton not liking their new single. Will.I.Am took offense to what Perez told Fergie and allegedly his security guards/entourage jumped Perez in the parking lot outside of Universal Music's party for the awards show that took place last night in Toronto. Well, again Twitter is the root of this as Perez Tweeted what happened to him last night.

I'm in shock. I need the police ASAP. Please come to the SoHo Metropolitan Hotel now. Please.

I was assaulted by Will.I.Am of the Black Eyed Peas and his security guards. I am bleeding. Please, I need to file a police report. No joke.

Still waiting for the police. The bleeding has stopped. I need to document this. Please, can the police come to the SoHo Met Hotel.

I spoke to my lawyer. I really need to talk to the authorities. Please come to the SoHo Met Hotel. Have called the police. Need them here.

The Toronto police are here now. Thank you. Please stop calling them.

Will.I.Am made a video blog about the incident and HE claims that another passerby was the one to hit Perez Hilton.

Now after something like that Perez gets heated and makes his own video response and posts it on his site. Perez says Will.I.Am. is lying and that Perez is doing this all for publicity. {not sure how I feel about that because Perez's site gets hits like crazy and the Black Eyed Peas aren't THAT famous, lo siento pero es verdad} Notice the cut under his right (well it's our left) eye. The video does seemed over-dramatized a tad bit, but still...what do you all think?

{{This video was just posted on Perez Hilton's site and no computer geniuses in cyber world have downloaded it to YouTube/Vimeo/Daily Motion so as much as I dislike to do this, you will have to go HERE to view the video on Perez's site. Once it is up on another site I will in embed it.}}

Another One Bites the Dust - Queen

If you paid attention to my blog then you saw that the post regarding the Fli Pelican Basketball Tournament was deleted. What you may not have known is that Juan Neal quit Fli Pelican but is going out with a bang. Tuesday, June 23, 2009 I will have an exclusive interview with Juan about the situation. It will be one in a series of interviews, but for now check the preview Juan posted on his blog (yes he started his own blog) about the situation. This is big.

Yay or Nay: 24/23 (Gucci Diss) - Young Jeezy

Alrighty, so the people's trap star Young Jeezy as released a new diss song in his ongoing beef with Gucci Mane. 24/23 (also called Lebron v. Kobe) disses not only Gucci, but OJ Da Juiceman as well. This "beef" has been going for a couple of years now, and I'm not too sure if it should be. This isn't about me though, so Yay or Nay: 24/23 (Gucci Diss) - Young Jeezy

Automatic Yay: Chucky (Charles Hamilton Diss) - Marv Won

This is something different, something unusual, my FIRST ever automatic YAY. This is a track on which I think no opinions matter, because yes it is a Charles Hamilton diss. NOT ONLY THAT, but it's a lyrically good Charles Hamilton diss. Do I think Charles is going to respond? No. He's going to make up some excuse about already talking to someone in the D, getting everything sorted out, apologizing to folks, etc. and he's going to say he doesn't feel the need to respond. The diss was done by Marv Won (serious Detroit rap fans know the name) who pretty much goes ham on Supersonic man. Thing is, Charles Hamilton lyrical skills and wordplay aren't the best so it's best that he continues to battle rap poetesses who later punch him in the face. I'm quite positive you want to hear the track, so here it is.

Go Ham On 'Em - Gucci Mane

So if you watch the video below you know what happened between Charles Hamilton and myself. He did hit up my homie Slapz and read a piece of the e-mail and it came across as angry. Now tell me, is this angry?

Hello Mr. Charles Hamilton:

Yesterday night, I was on your twitter page pulling some of your tweets for a blog post I'm working on and saw that one tweet where you asked me (among others) to send you my telephone number so you can call and I can tell you to your face how ridiculous I think you are. Well, I'm not giving you my cell number (and it's not out of fear) it's because I don't understand why you personally want to hear from your "haters;" you plan on accomplishing much in an industry that is full of "haters" worse than I am.
However, a friend of mine by the name of Slapz pretty much hates you and is willing to have you call him so he can tell you how horrendous he finds you. You can reach Slapz at (313) ***-****. He's actual anticipating telling you how he feels.
But if you really would like me to break down why I don't particularly care for your music or agree with what your doing with Dilla's name (and with Ma Dukes saying she doesn't know you) then I will by all means do so via e-mail (such as this one) or AIM/iChat: xAlexWashingtonx.
Other than that, there's nothing left to say.

Sorry 2004 - Reuben Studdard

So this is probably the last Charles Hamilton post you'll see (unless he drops a banger or finally releases an album..or gets punched again O_o) but HoodNews caught back up with CH and Briana Latrise about their tif in the streets. (Check below if you don't know.) I do have mad respect for CH because he didn't hit her back (and that sounded like it hurt); but he apologizes for his behavior and despite the Pink Panther purse and Sonic t-shirts, he's a man for that.

Brooklyn Girl - Charles Hamilton

Probably the only time in life you will ever see a Charles Hamilton song title on this blog.

So you've peeped the video below, the young lady who punches Charles Hamilton is Mary J. Blige's stepdaughter Briana Latrise. Charles Hamilton published the video on his blog as well, but never addressed the actual punch itself. But Briana did, and apparently the two had a relationship back in high school. Here's what she posted on her blog about the situation:

We seriously have a sick, dysfunctional, high school relationship. But... It is what it is. Like I said earlier: I DID NOT MEAN TO DECK HIM. I was holding it back but the more I thought about what he said the more I wanted to hit him. Sorry Grandma. I felt justified, but the more I think about it now, it is an unfair situation for him: I'm a female so he can't hit me back with out a bunch of ppl talkn crap, and he still gets talked about if he doesn't hit me. We ALL know that if a woman feels she's man enough to hit a man, she's probably man enough to take a punch. I'm not sayin thats right eithe-

Matter of fact, let's say this:
Even tho it was a "rap battle" and that's the only reason he was going so hard...
I would do it again in a heart beat. Somebody's gotta shut the kid up sometime!!! But I got love for him tho.

Lol

We are a sad, sad story. We just cross lines.

Sucker M.C. - Run DMC

Ok I will tell any and everyone that asks me, I dislike Charles Hamilton. Not only did he ruin my favorite childhood video game by trying to make that ish his logo (kind of like what Bow Wow did with Mickey Mouse way back when) he is just not that talented to me (sorry).
Well, CH got embarrassed, bad. Not only does he battle rap a poetess (and loses in my opinion, then again it is a biased one), she punches the ish out of this guy for disrespecting her. Justice?

Never Forget You - Mariah Carey

Eminem's "Relapse" has surfaced! The album, which is to be released in a couple of weeks, was leaked online yesterday and has been getting a batch of mixed reviews already from celebrities and fans alike.
Well you don't have to be Eminem's biggest fan to know that he has an uncontrollable mouth when it comes to parodying and dissing (jokingly?) other celebrities, one of them being lady glitter herself, Mariah Carey.
Why? Em said they had a relationship and Mariah denied it.
Back in 2006, Eminem said on his Sirius Shade 45 channel:
Yes, me and Mariah did have a relationship for about a good six, seven months. (But) it didn’t work. I wasn’t really into what she was into; our personalities collided. She’s a diva, and I’m a little more regular, I guess.

He also blasted Madame Butterfly in his song "Superman" off of his album "The Eminem Show."

Why am I telling you old stuff?

On the "Relapse" there's a track called "Bagpipes from Baghdad" and Slim not only disses M.C. but her....husband, Nick Cannon saying:
I mean I really want you bad you c**t, Nick you had your fun, I've come to kick you in your sack of junk.

Mr. Carey didn't take to kindly to that at all. The...*what is he exactly? actor? rapper? producer? DJ?* former Wild N' Out star posted on his blog calling Eminem mediocre, bitter, and a "Peroxide drenched homophobic has-been." Nick does acknowledge that can NEVER beat Eminem in a rap battle, but even in that same phrase tries to diss the diamond selling MC.

I analyzed the situation from a logical perspective. Am I going to battle Eminem and try to out rap him? No, that would be stupid. The dude is nice on the mic. Even though nowadays he lacks substance, rapping about when he used to be hot. Like when Al Bundy gloats about his High school football prime.

It's no secret that Nick Cannon is....whipped, by Mariah. If the super gigantic *and tacky* tattoo across his back of her name isn't proof enough, Nick says the reason he's not going to remain silent on the matter is because he disrespected a Black woman. Cannon goes off into a frenzy mid-blog about allowing a white man to "spew vulgar obscenities at our beautiful queens."

I realized, that this so-called man has just disrespected and slanderized one of the world’s most significantly influential artists, one of the most notable BLACK females of our time, the incredibly cherished, globally loved and world-embraced woman of color, Mariah Carey!

Some people may not realize or tend to forget that my wife is a Black woman. And she has had enough difficulty in her life dealing with racial and ethnicity issues. Believe it or not, Mariah is the same racial mixture as our beloved president Barack Obama. [Black Father + White Mother= BLACK]

Maybe I’m going too far, but I thought we got passed the days where white men could spew vulgar obscenities at our beautiful queens and get away with it. What’s next? Are we going to let this trash say something horrible about our lovely first lady, Mrs. Michelle Obama? Or would Marshall have talked sideways out of his neck like this about Oprah Winfrey? This act of racist bigotry cannot go unnoticed. Calling my wife a “cunt” and a “whore” is way worse than anything Don Imus could have ever said. So trust, repercussions will be served.

Let’s not forget about Eminem’s amateur mixtape rants of calling African Americans Nigger and how he hates “Black Bitches”. How did we let him get away with that in the first place?! He is a natural born racist in disguise. Someone tell this coward that he finally barked up the wrong tree. For his entire career he strategically only tried to beef with people he could bully. I mean, what real man picks fights with women? Real MC’s battle other real MC’s. Ask Nas, ask Jay Z, you didn’t see them starting beefs with women! That is truly some punk shit!

I do believe Eminem said "Nigga" not "Nigger," Nick

Cannon ruined all the fun of enjoying an Eminem diss by making this a Black/White thing. Do you really think Eminem hates Black women? I mean really. Yes, I do remember the whole fiasco over that mixtape joint, but I don't think Eminem was referring to all Black women, just one in particular that probably really was a b***h to him... And as far as Oprah is concerned, she's not my favorite person in the world either, and plenty of other have dissed her so what exactly makes Eminem different if he did go after Ms. Winfrey? The simple fact that he's White?

I would like to point out that Eminem is from Detroit -sidebar: Ok he's from Warren but if you always hang out/work/date/chill somewhere you are from there, he probably knows Detroit streets better than most people- not saying that it is impossible for him to be racist, but look at his camp and affiliates: Dr. Dre, 50 Cent, D12, Proof...yeah Eminem is definitely racist *sarcasm*

I understand Nick being upset because he disses his wife, but this has been going on for how long? Even Mariah gave up after her diss song "Clown" way back to when Charmbracelet came out. Nick Cannon makes a valid point in the Eminem and Al Bundy reference; I did find bringing up an 8 year old beef kind of irrelevant. However, you must admit that Cannon's fear to battle Em is quite hilarious. No matter how irritating, annoying, crude, or vulgar Marshall Mathers may be, he is, in my mind, one of the best lyricists ever.

Want to read Nick's original post? Check out my friend Alona's blog.

Peep the photo Cannon posted on his blog:

The perfect way to end this post??? With Nick Cannon's final words to Eminem:
I’m taking full action on you Eminem. I don’t know why no one has stood up to your bitch ass yet. But I guess it’s going to take a corny, wack rapping, boy toy from Nickelodeon to set you straight. And trust, I am going to be relentless. Even though I got a lot of other obligations and occupations, you are my new full time job “homey”! As a matter of fact I think you going to bring my wack rhymes out of retirement! That’s right haters; you can thank Eminem because I’m going to start rapping again! LOL Just for him! And don’t forget about the jokes! We coming at you hard body!! Non-stop on your Manic-depressive-Insecure-Maclovin-Nazi- Liza Minelli haircut havin-lookin ass!! [Pause] That’s what I do all day Bitch!

So Miss Marshall, I’m going to make you wish you never spoke my name and regret the ungodly things you said about my wife. This is going to be fun! It’s however you want it! Just remember, you did this to yourself! Your legacy has now been tainted from this day forth! You will now be known as the rapper who lost to Corny-ass Nick Cannon!!!

Wanksta - 50 Cent

Remember Yung Berg? The rapper that's more famous for getting his chain snatched in the D than for his 2007 hit "Sexy Lady..." yeah that guy.

It's no secret that Yung Berg isn't that respected in the hip-hop world and now making the list of wack things about him, he didn't pay a DJ for his new mixtape: "Twitter Muziq" *How wack is that title?*

DJ Quote released a video calling out Berg for not paying him AND released his phone number. *but who would want to call him?* In the video Quote says the reason he is calling him out is about respect not the money.

But don't think Yung Beezy took that sitting down. He has been real active *on Twitter* about the situation. Tweeting things like:
500 $$ ASS NIGGA!!! LMFAO LMFAO!!! WAT A LOOOOOOOOOOOOSER!!!!! I THINK HE'S GAY!!! NO HOMO!!

BUT DAMN ITS GREAT FUCKIN PROMOTION!!!!!! SHOUTS OUT 2 ALL THE REAL DJ'S THAT BREAK RECORDS 4 THE LOVE AND NOT $$!! I LOVE YALL 2 DEATH

You have to admit the video is mildly entertaining and I know it's his song and all but "Give Me the Business" is a very feminine song especially for a ringback....
But I dig the graffiti work on Quote's wall. I do agree with him though, I don't care if it was $5 or $5,000 there's a respect thing and the fact that you're not true to your word is not cool. There are two sides to every story and I wonder if Berg will do a response video...

What's Beef? - Notorious B.I.G.

Maybe Thursday should have been nicknamed day of the Ross' BS. Like I mentioned in my earlier post Rick Ross and 50 Cent have this beef going on that has now ventured into their respective circles.
DJ Whoo Kid and Lloyd Banks released a video promoting their new mixtape 4-30-09:Happy Birthday, Vol. 4. In the video DJ Whoo Kid criticized the boss for calling G-Unit 'monkeys':

I ain't no monkey man. Cut it out, man, that's racial. Black on Black racism man, you can't call other Black people monkeys.

Naturally Ross being the parole- I mean Boss that he is, responded back, but this time he took it too far and took the term monkey to one of the more notorious G-Unit affiliates Eminem. Ross posted this video from St. Maarten commenting about his album being #1 and about how he could solve this 'monkey' issue:
You know now they [G-Unit] saying 'monkey' can be black on black racial. The only way I could fix that, Eminem you're a monkey. He's really a honky, but that's racial. You n***as monkeys. The world knows you're monkeys.

*personal sidebar: I love how he is up in St. Maarten, Yeezys in hand, asking to hold $75 G's, but according to his BM-as Lloyd Banks so affectionately called her- Ross isn't paying child support. That still doesn't take away my opinion about Tiallondra's book though. And what does he mean it's not the G-Unit sneaker? It ain't the Rick Ross sneaker either..it's the Air Yeezy please treat it as such.*

Lloyd Banks did NOT take the calling out of Eminem well at all. Banks was interviewed by MTV about the situation and said the following:
As far as calling out Eminem, you're not in the top 10 lyricists nowhere. So just sit down, man. We seen what Em can do. Em's in a whole 'nother lane. How do you go from praising somebody in one interview to calling him a 'monkey' in the next? He's been in out of pocket too many times. We'll see where his future goes. It doesn't look too bright, if you ask me.

Honestly, this is probably one of the lamest rap beefs in the history of the industry; only because of the artists it's between. I have respect for both sides nonetheless. 50 fought dirty when he went and kicked it with Ross' baby mama for an interview but Ross isn't fighting dirty by calling out Eminem, that's just stupid-career suicide if you will. He's cocky because he has 'won' little beefs here or there but c'mon, do you really think Rick Ross could beat Eminem in a rap battle?
